1 King Country Chicken Soup Mix

2.3L water

½ leek, thinly sliced

2 garlic cloves, minced

2 stalks celery, diced

1 carrot, peeled and diced

1 cooked chicken breast, lightly shredded


1. Empty the King Country Chicken Soup Mix into a large pot, and combine with 2.3L of water.

2. Stir in the leek, garlic, celery and carrot. Bring to a boil, then lower the heat to a gentle simmer and cover.

3. Cook for 50 minutes. Remove the lid, then stir the shredded chicken through the soup.

4. Cover again, and cook for a final 10 minutes or until the soup has thickened and the grains and vegetables are tender. Season to taste with salt and pepper as needed, then serve while hot and enjoy.

Top tips: King Soup can be enjoyed on its own, or with any vegetables of your choice; we recommend using seasonal vegetables for a truly delicious and cost-effective soup. Add a herbaceous twist to this soul-warming soup by stirring through chopped fresh herbs before serving! We used fresh parsley and chives. Make your own shredded chicken by adding in 1 uncooked chicken breast into the soup after it has simmered for 50 minutes. Cook for 10 minutes or until cooked through, then shred and stir through the soup before seasoning.
